You’re looking at the design that I came up with for PD & P.

Ever since I was in school at Miami University for Graphic Design, I’ve never really cared too much for web design. Designing for print was much more appealing to me.

There always seems to be something that comes between me and web design that makes me feel like I’m groping around in the dark after something and I can’t find out where or how to get that ‘something’ in my grasp.

One of the main problems that I always have when it comes to designing something is the ‘concept’. That was always stressed ‘first and foremost’ in school. I agree that a conceptual design should be achieved when required.
For this website though, I decided to keep everything as simple as possible without any sort of concept in mind. Instead of beating my brains out trying to over-design something, I decided that I would focus on what types of pages I wanted and how they would be organized and then started to put all the ‘coded’ stuff together into something that was more reflective of the visual imagery of which I’m more interested.

I chose a darker color scheme because it helps the eye to focus more on the lighter images on the page.

While I’m writing this, the look and simplicity seem to sit well with me. That could change at any moment of any given day when I look things over. I am prone to change my mind quite often and get tired of things quite easily.
